The Concerts in the Park
series is held at the Port Orange Kenneth W. Parker Amphitheater, which is located at the Port Orange City Center. This is the same complex where City Hall and the public library are located. This is a very nice outdoor venue, and conveniently located in the center of the city, which means it’s only about ten minutes from anywhere in Port Orange. It’s used during festivals, and is also the venue for many local bands and musical acts throughout the year.
For over 15 years, Port Orange has hosted the Lakeside Jazz Festival. This celebration of jazz is a two-day event with concerts and musical workshops, and is considered one of the premier jazz venues in the United States. Groups come from all over Florida and the whole country to perform here. The Lakeside Jazz Festival is just minutes from Dayton’s world-famous beach, at a gorgeous lakeside setting. Concerts in the past have included bands such as
The United States Navy Jazz Band Southeast, the Florida Southern College Jazz Band, Rollins College Jazz Band, The Sal Ronci Big Band, The Swamp Dogs Dixieland Band, and many others.
